As a young boy I often visited my grandmother, Mamie Painter, in Marion, Virginia. With my brother, Hiter, we spent many wonderful times with Frank and his older brother Bill. Fishing at Hungry Mother Park or just "hanging out" and talking about girls or playing football on Frank's front lawn. I lived in Norton, Virginia, in the very middle of the coalfields and Frank came to spend a weekend with me once. We went out together with our dates and he wore a perfectlly beautiful white suit. I cannot tell you how that looked after an evening of dancing and getting in and out of cars. I don't know what he did with that suit but I think I would have burned it. I owe him a great debt of gratitude as it was Frank that encouraged me to attend Davidson Colllege after World War II. We were brothers in Beta Theta Pi and I am sure he is responsible for my invitation to join that great bunch of guys. I think of him often as the years go by. I just wish I could have gotten back together with him before he transitioned to other duties. Belated but my condolences to the family. He was just a very special person. Ralph Robinson, Davidson class '51

Frank was the founding minister at our church in Raleigh, Hudson Memorial. He was very influential for myself and many others. Caring, loving and knowing God's word very well. He will be missed, but with his Father. I am proud to say my father, Ed Shook, founded the Frankie Lemmon School in Raleigh. We conduct the Ed Shook Golf Classic every year since the mid 1960's, which is a major fund raiser for the school. I still take my mother Mary to to each tounement. Love to the family, Andy Shook

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Lemmon,Nina and Betsy,Our sincere sympathy on the passing of your brother and uncle, the Rev. Frank T. Lemmon. We never had the pleasure of meeting him, but if he was anything like his brother he was an exceptional man.
