Obituary of Nellie Smith

MARION, VIRGINIA: NELLIE BARKER SMITH, age 79, died Friday, June 26, 2009 at Holston Valley Medical Center in Kingsport, Tennessee. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul F. Smith. She was a member of the Marion First Church of God and retired from Harwood Manufacturing after 42 years of service. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be greatly missed. She is survived by one daughter, Diane S. Eller of Marion, Virginia; two sisters, Allene Roop and husband Howard of Bristol, Virginia, Goldie Carpenter and husband Coy of Marion, Virginia; two grandchildren Richard K. Keesling Jr. of Marion, Virginia, Paula Harvey and husband Rocco of Cookeville, Tennessee; one great-grandchild Kyleigh E. Harvey; special friend James Cline of Marion, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; and special pet LeeRoy. Funeral services will be held Saturday June 27, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Bill McCollian officiating. Graveside Services will be held Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at. Seaver-Brown Chapel.
