Obituary of Colonel Clark

MARION, VIRGINIA: COLONEL "C.B." CLARK JR., age 77, died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at Johnston Memorial Hospital. He was born in Glade Spring, Virginia to the late Colonel B. and Mattie DeBord Clark. He had a great love for blue grass and gospel music. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two sons, Jerry and Ronnie Clark; three brothers, Bill, Frank, and Cecil Clark; and one sister, Mildred McGready Steffey. He is survived by his wife, Hazel Fields Clark of Marion, Virginia; three daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara Ann and Larry Clark of Blountville, Tennessee, Mary Jane and James Ratcliff of Marion, Virginia, and Connie and James Huey of Fayetteville, North Carolina; three sons and one daughter-in-law, Bob Clark of Marion, Virginia, Billy Joe and Pam Clark of Richmond, Virginia, and James Clark of Marion, Virginia; one sister, Ruby Whorley of Las Vegas, Nevada; three brothers, James Clark of Bassett, Virginia, Charles D. Clark of Apple Valley, California, and Johnnie Clark of Marion, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 27, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia with Reverend RuthAnne Henley officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery in Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
