Obituary of Rodney McKinnon

MARION, VIRGINIA: RODNEY S. McKINNON, age 74, died Friday, March 6, 2009 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia. He was the son of the late Rev. Claude & Iva Poole Mckinnon. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church with a heart for the mission program, local and foreign and a love for helping the less fortunate. He is survived by his wife, Margaret McKinnon of Marion, Virginia; one daughter, Reverend Michelle M. Buckles of Johnson City, Tennessee; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg & Susan Mckinnon of Bow, New Hampshire; one sister, Elaine Sexton of Colfax, North Carolina; five grandchildren, AnnieLaurie Buckles, and Kelsey, Taylor, Zachary, and Cassidy McKinnon; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Reverend Jonathan Jonas and Reverend Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
