Lotie was my Grandmother, we always affectionately called her MawMaw. One of my earliest and fondest memories is picking green beans out of her immaculate garden for supper that night. She was a great cook, I loved her rice (among many other tasty treats). She was always kind, I can't remember ever getting scolded by her. Maybe that's because her son, Danny, and his wife, Robin, did such a wonderful job of raising my siblings and me. Maw Maw, I love you and the memories I have of you will be forever cherished in my heart. You and paw Paw are together again. Be happy and regret not leaving us, your loved ones, because you have changed us all for the better. I Love You. Peace be with you and all my family.

Dear Phyllis, Katherine told me about your Mother. I was so sorry to hear that she had passed away. I looked on the computer and found this site. We went to school together at Oak Point until I moved to Florida. I don't know if you remember me or not. Anyway I wanted to send my sympaty to your family. I hope you will have a good year 2009. Your Friend, Iris

Although as an adult we spent very little time with one another, my childhood memories of your homemade apple butter, fresh biscuits, numbering of your eggs and many, many trips to the compost will be with me as long as I live. You were a loving and kind person to all you knew and a wonderful grandmother, you will be always in my memories. Dad, our thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family. Thank you for being a father to us. We Love You.

I too regret that distance kept myslef and my sisters from being closer to MawMaw, but my memories remain fond. The one that stands out is all the snow (we don't see much in west TX) in her front yard and sledding with my sisters; then going inside to enjoy some hot cider. We will miss you and your applebutter MawMaw. Much love

Law, that Lotie will be missed! (That was one of my favorite sayings of hers.) She was such a kind lady--took such good care of her family. And her apple butter was fantastic--the angels will enjoy it. Dan, Steve, Phyllis, and Dennis, I am glad I knew your MawMaw. With love, Robin Vinson

I wish I could have spent more time wih Maw Maw, but our living arrangements would not allow it. Still, I have the warmest memories of her. She is a part of all my best vacation memories: her huge, beautiful garden that I envied, her delicious cooking and recipes I begged for, her slow southern drawl which I mimicked, and her gentle, loving, and supportive attitude that accepted me for me. She is in my thoughts and prayers along with all those who grieve for her. Love you Maw Maw.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. I have so many wonderful memories of Ma Ma like snapping string beans on the front porch swing, eating lots of her homemade applebutter, catching fireflies in mason jars, running up to the barn in her rubber boots to get eggs and the smell of her cooking breakfast early in the morning. She was the most kind, loving grandmother anyone could have and I am grateful that I was blessed to have her in my life.
