Obituary of Reber Atkins

MARION, VIRGINIA: REBER JOSEPH "JOE" ATKINS, JR., age 76, died Friday, December 5, 2008 at Smyth County Community Hospital in Marion, Virginia. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Lynn Atkins. He is survived by his wife, Pat Atkins of Marion; two daughters, Reba Maria Atkins of Marion and Pamela Atkins Davis of Marion; one son, Reber Joseph Atkins, III of Marion; one stepson, Richard Bowen of Marion; one step-daughter, Wendy Dearmin of Pilot Mountain, North Carolina; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; two cousins, Gale and Steve Atkins of Marion and his two best friends, O. T. and Colleen Mullinax of Columbia, South Carolina. Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
