Obituary of Grover Bonham
SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: GROVER KYLE BONHAM, age 80, went to be with the Lord on October 1, 2008 in the Smyth County Community Hospital. He was born in Sugar Grove, VA to the late Charlie Millard and Vinnie Bonham. He moved to Maryland where he worked for Baltimore Gas and Electric. Upon his retirement in 1990, he returned to Sugar Grove. He enjoyed spending time with family, beekeeping, gardening, fishing, crabbing and doing word search puzzles. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother. He leaves behind his wife of 60 years Maggie; two daughters, Sheila Griffin and husband Ross of Port Deposit, MD, Katrina Bayer and husband Jeff of Sugar Grove, VA; grandchildren, Tonya Kerins and husband Joe of Jarrettsville, MD, John Huffman of Marion, VA, Andrew Huffman of Port Deposit, MD, Ryan, Daniel and Nicholas Bayer of Sugar Grove, VA; great- grandchildren, Brady and Alaina Kerins. Siblings Margie Cox and Lucille Testerman both of Delaware, Robert Bonham and wife Hattie of Bel Air, MD, Genell Blevins and husband Jim of Bristol, VA, Martha Robinson and husband Bobby of Sugar Grove, VA, Sharon Reedy and husband Earlie of Troutdale, VA, Ralph Bonham and wife Barbara of Sugar Grove, VA and Wanda Sumner of Galax, VA. He was preceded in death by his son, Edwin Dewayne Bonham, sisters, Mabel Waller and Eva Spencer; brother, Lawrence Bonham. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 4, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Eddie Beck officiating. Burial will follow at the Rose Lawn Cemetery. The Family will receive friends Friday from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cedar Bluff Baptist Church, 132 Cumberland Drive, Atkins, VA 24311 or to the Sugar Grove Life Saving Crew, P. O. Box 267, Sugar Grove, VA 24375.
