Obituary of Fannie Barker
FANNIE ALICE MARTIN BARKER, age 83, widow of Eli W. "Dub" Barker, died Thursday, September 11, 2008 in Wythe County Community Hospital.
Mrs. Barker was a member of the Marion Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was a member of the Marion Rebekah Lodge #42, the Business & Professional Club, the Marion Pilot Club and the Marion Chapter #72 Order of the Eastern Star.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Baker Martin. She is survived by two daughters, Ann Greer and husband, Rick of Rockledge, Florida and Fran Horne and husband, D. Clayton of Rural Retreat, Virginia; two sisters, Dot Blevins of Chilhowie, Virginia and Norma Ann Neitch of Flat Ridge, Virginia; one brother, Claude Douglas Martin of Chilhowie, Virginia; two grandsons, Dr. J. Brent Greer and wife, Teresa and David Clayton Horne, II and wife, Erin; one granddaughter, Beth Farmer; two great-granddaughters, Madeline Newberry and Graycen Elizabeth Horne; two great-grandsons, Eli Carson Greer and Nathan Richard Greer; a special sister-in-law, Daisy Martin of Chilhowie, Virginia; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, September 13, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. Mark Ross officiating. Memorial Services will be conducted by Marion Chapter #72 O.E.S. just prior to the Funeral Service. Private Graveside Services will be held Sunday, September 14, 2008 at Troutdale Cemetery, Grayson County, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Memorials may be made to the Troutdale Cemetery, P.O.
