I often think of Mr. Linkous when I think of my father and I was saddened to read today of his death in the paper. I had often wondered how he was since he had lived in Bristol. I have many fond memories of your father with my father Pat Collins as they sat on the porch of the fieldhouse at the Marion Mets games with their "scorebooks', the afternoons he pulled in the driveway to pick dad up for an Emory game, the countless Marion football, basketball, and baseball games they attended not to mention all of the "golf" they played. Those were very special men who shared such wonderful friendships over their various sporting events and I only hope that we and our children can share those kinds of friendships in the years to come. How I wish my dad could see my children play now and that Gordon was sitting right there with him! Please know that your family is in my thoughts. Ellen Collins Wagner

Woody, your parents were the best. Of course your mother was the best art teacher I ever had! You dad was legend at all the MSHS sporting events. He always greeted me at church,when I can home to visit my parents. He was a great man! Please know that you and your family are in my prayers.
