Obituary of Curtis Ashlin
MARION, VIRGINIA: CURTIS ASHLIN, JR., age 93, died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Bristol Regional Medical Center.
He was a member of the Warf Hill United Methodist Church in Sugar Grove, Virginia. He retired in 1975 from Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan.
He is survived by his wife, Carrie Marie Ashlin of Marion, Virginia; two daughters, Rebecca T. Ashlin and Phyllis McClure both of Green Valley, Arizona; one grandson, Zachary Taylor; special caregivers, Carl and Dawn Keyes and Glenna Keyes and two special buddies, Kayla and Jon Keyes all of Sugar Grove. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Lawn Cemetery in Sugar Grove, Virginia where Masonic Rites will be conducted by Marion Masonic Lodge #31 A.F. & A.M. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 23, 2008 from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
Flowers will be appreciated, however, it was Curtis's wishes that donations be made to the Sugar Grove Life Saving Crew or Sugar Grove Fire Department, c/o Carol Choate, P.O. Box 108, Sugar Grove VA 24375.
