Obituary of Mildred Petty

MARION, VIRGINIA: MILDRED ROBERTS PETTY, age 83, widow of Raymond E. Petty, died Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Marion, Virginia. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Ron Arnette of Aylett, Virginia; one son and daughter-in-law, Rev. Ray and Alice Petty of Andersonville, Tennessee; one sister and brother-in-law, Janet and Gordon Harris of Broadford, Virginia; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Marie Roberts of Rich Valley, Virginia, Gene Roberts of Broadford, Virginia, Roy and Margaret Roberts of Marion, Virginia, and George Roberts of Dryden, Virginia; three granddaughters, Debbie Petty, Cheryl Petty, and Beth Jones and husband, Aaron; one grandson, Brian Thomas and wife, Anita; five great-grandchildren, Ashtyn Thomas, Nate Jones, Anna Jones, Avery Jones, and Michael Lee Bruce. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia with Rev. Mike Teague officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until the time of service. Graveside services will be held on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. in Riverside Cemetery, Rich Valley, Virginia.
