Obituary of Raymond Powell

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: RAYMOND R. "DICKIE" POWELL, age 65, died Tuesday, July 15, 2008 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, Tennessee. He was an avid hunter who loved the outdoors. Dickie was a jack-of-all-trades, he could do anything and could make anything work. He was always there for his family and friends; he was also very kind, tender-hearted and very compassionate. He is survived by his wife, Ruth Powell of Atkins, Virginia; one daughter and son-in-law, Angel and Chris Anderson of Marion, Virginia; two sons, Richard Bryan Powell and Randy Powell both of Atkins, Virginia; one sister, Phyllis Shakespeare of Atkins, Virginia; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Kathie Powell of Reisterstown, Maryland; three grandchildren, Ashley, Tyler, and Dakota; one great-grandchild, Brayden; several nieces and nephews also survive. Private funeral services were held Friday, July 18, 2008 Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
