Obituary of Grace Ellis

MARION, VIRGINIA: GRACE "KATHERINE" ELLIS, age 77, died Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Smyth County Community Hospital. Mrs. Ellis was a member of St. Johns Evangelist Catholic Church and Furnace Hill Lutheran Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who always cared about other people putting them before herself. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and loved bingo. She is survived by her husband, Joseph Francis Ellis Sr. of Marion, Virginia; four sons, Joseph Francis Ellis, Jr. and wife, Susie, Dennis Wayne Ellis, Anthony Ellis and wife, Pam, and Damian Keith Ellis all of Marion, Virginia; seven grandchildren, Ferris, Michael, Brittney, Morgan, Kelly, Derick, and Katie Ellis; one great-grandson, Owen Ellis; several nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Kathy Oakes and Cindy Combs also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, August 1, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Father Paul Maier and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Attoway Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
