Obituary of Ralph Newman II
NEW PORT RICHEY, FLORIDA: RALPH ANDERSON NEWMAN, II, age 70, passed away on Friday, June 20, 2008 at his home in New Port Richey after an extended illness. Son of the late Woodrow W. Newman and his wife, Lucille Etter Newman, Ralph was a graduate of Marion High School, Marion, Virginia and attended Hiwassee College, Madisonville, TN.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Martha; two sons and daughters-in-law, Paul A. Newman and wife, Kimberli of Gaithersburg, MD and James W. Newman and wife, Martha of New Port Richey; two grandsons, Zachary Newman and Jacob Newman; step-grandson, Jacob Thomas; maternal aunts and uncles, including Col. Hal Etter, Helotes, Texas, Fred Etter, Rural Retreat, Virginia and Jessie Etter, Rural Retreat, Virginia.
He retired from DC Dept. of Corrections, Lorton, Virginia and owned Baker-Newman, Inc., a utility construction company in Northern , Virginia.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 12 noon at Mount Caramel United Methodist Church Cemetery in Marion, Virginia with Reverend Harry Howe officiating.
