Obituary of Leota Parks

MARION, VIRGINIA; LEOTA SEXTON PARKS, age 92, died Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Francis Marion Manor in Marion, Virginia. Mrs. Parks was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Parks, a son, Don Parks, an infant granddaughter, Connie Parks, her parents, Bennie and Flossie McKinnon Sexton, and three sisters and two brothers. She was a member of Cedar Bluff Baptist Church in Atkins, Virginia and was employed by Southwestern State Hospital for 23 years. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Joyce and Harold Kirby and Janice and Barney Heath, all of Archdale, North Carolina and Judy and Max Jones of Chilhowie, Virginia, one son, Carter and Ruby Y. Parks of Marion, Virginia, two sisters, Hazel Perkins and Delores Aker, both of Marion, Virginia, six grandchildren and five great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 23, 2008 at 1:00 pm at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Eddie Beck and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Honey Grove Cemetery in Flatridge, Virginia. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
