Obituary of Margaret Horne

SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: MARGARET ELLEN TESTERMAN HORNE went to her eternal home Thursday, April 3, 2008 to rest with Jesus and her family who have gone before. She was born February 3, 1919 to Charlie and Mae Testerman in Comers Rock, Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Howard of almost 68 years. They were married June 8, 1940 in Sparta, North Carolina. Also surviving are her two daughters, Louise Brookshire and husband Jack of Rising Sun, Maryland, and Darlene Walker and husband Jerry of Independence, Virginia. She has five grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, and one very special adopted granddaughter at Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Going ahead of her to await her arrival were her parents, three brothers and a sister. She was a faithful member of Wharf Hill United Methodist Church in Sugar Grove, Virginia having been the Communion Steward for 40 years, involved with the United Methodist Women, and instrumental in starting the Church thrift shop. The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, April 5, 2008 at Seaver- Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia. Services will be held at Wharf Hill United Methodist Church in Sugar Grove, Virginia on Sunday, April 6, 2008 at 3:00 p.m. with burial following in the Ridgelawn Cemetery. The Reverend Tom Ballard will officiate. Flowers will be appreciated or you may make memorial contributions to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America, 207 North Boone Street, Suite 1050, Johnson City, Tennessee 37604. The family would like to extend their thanks and appreciation to Grayson Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Independence for their compassionate care, kindness, and support during the past year.
