Obituary of Oma Rotenberry

ROME, NEW YORK: OMA E. ROTENBERRY, age 94, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 in Rome Memorial Hospital, Rome, New York. She was born August 2, 1913 in Marion, Virginia, the daughter of the late Levi and Lucinda Brooks Peake. In January of 1932, she was united in marriage to Ray Elmer "Buck" Rotenberry. Mr. Rotenberry died on May 25, 1992. Mrs. Rotenberry was a resident of Ava, New York since 2004. She had previously resided in Herndon Heights, West Virginia from 1956 to 2004. She was preceded in death by two daughters, Nancy Rotenberry and Lucille Rotenberry. Survivors include one daughter, Gertrude Curry of Athens, West Virginia; two sons and daughters-in-law, Cecil and Leah Rotenberry, with whom she resided, and Roger and Judy Rotenberry of Kinzers, Pennsylvania; a step-daughter, Etta Lane and her husband, Norman of Georgetown, Pennsylvania; a step-brother and sister-in-law, Rev. R. C. and Louise Wagner of Roanoke, Virginia; sixteen grandchildren, twenty-eight great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren also survive. Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at West Cemetery in Marion, Virginia with Rev. R. C. Wagner officiating. The family will receive friends at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home in Marion, Virginia, Thursday from 12:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. when the procession will leave for West Cemetery where graveside services will be held.
