Obituary of Montie Campbell

MARION, VIRGINIA: MONTIE M. CAMPBELL, age 78, died Tuesday, March 18, 2008 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He is preceded in death by his wife, Chrysteen Campbell. Mr. Campbell was a good man, a super husband, a great dad, and wonderful grandfather. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, and was an avid Vols fan. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church, and retired from the Brunswick Corporation. He is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Danny Darnell of Marion, Virginia; one son, Mike Campbell of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; one brother, Lowell Campbell of Lenoir City, Tennessee; two grandchildren, Hunter and Danielle Darnell; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, March 21, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Marion, Virginia with Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Discretionary Fund of the First United Methodist Church, 115 South Church Street, Marion, VA 24354.
