Obituary of Sadie Pafford

Sadie Elizabeth Haulsee Pafford, age 89, of Damascus, Virginia, died Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia, after a brief illness. Mrs. Pafford was born January 2, 1919 to the late Curtis and Saffronia Watson Haulsee. She lived in the Attoway area of Smyth County until eleven years ago when she moved to her daughter's home in Damascus, Virginia following the death of her husband Woodie S. Pafford. She was a faithful member of Falling Water Baptist Church where she served as the church pianist for over fifty years. Surviving are her daughter Nita Pafford Morton and husband David of Damascus, Virginia; her son William S. Pafford and wife Diana also of Damascus, Virginia; her grandson Andrew J. Pafford of Blacksburg, Virginia; and numerous nieces and nephews. Two brothers Roger and Bill Haulsee preceded her in death. Services for Mrs. Pafford will be conducted 1:00pm, Saturday, January 19, 2008 at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home in Marion, VA by Pastors John Davis and Jerry Creasy. Burial will be in Attoway Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 5:30pm -7:30pm at Seaver-Brown Funeral Home.
