Obituary of Barney Plummer

TROUTDALE, VIRGINIA: BARNEY LEE PLUMMER age 72 died Friday, January18, 2008 in Holston Valley Medical Center, Kingsport, Tennessee. Barney was a very loving and caring man and a friend to everyone. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force having served in Korea and Vietnam. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman, and he loved the outdoors. He is survived by his wife, Lena Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia; two sons & one daughter-in-law, Joseph L. Plummer & Nancy "Nan" of Marion, Virginia, and Charles W. Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia; five sisters and four brothers-in-law, Ruth and Dan Harvey of Woodbine, Georgia, Patsy and Bill Mooney of Madison, North Carolina, Darlene and Bobby Marshall of Madison, North Carolina, Ellen and Ray Brewer of Troutdale, Virginia, and Colene Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Roger and Loraine Plummer of Troutdale, Virginia, Jack and Bonita Plummer of Lawsonville, North Carolina, Ray and Nonnie Plummer, and Bobby and Carla Plummer all of Troutdale, Virginia; two grandchildren, Joey "Little Joe" Plummer and Scott Plummer; three great-grandchildren, David, Toni, and Mara; many nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church in Rugby, Virginia with Rev. Tim Boyette officiating. Burial will follow in Corinth Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday, January 20, 2008 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Corinth Baptist Church.
