Obituary of Mary Shupe
WYTHEVILLE, VIRGINIA: MARY KATHERINE MYERS SHUPE, age 84, died Tuesday, November 27, 2007 in Wythe County Community Hospital.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Kent and Etta Myers; her husbands, Joel J. Shupe and Garvin Junior "June" Shupe; three sons, George W. Shupe, Joel J. "J.J." Shupe, and Bill Shupe; one sister, Nora Atwell; and one sister-in-law, Peggy Myers.
She is survived by two sons and five daughters-in-law, John and Susie Shupe, Mike and Dorie Shupe, and Lynn Shupe all of Ceres, Virginia, Donna Shupe of Marion, Virginia, and Betty Shupe of Atkins, Virginia. One daughter and son-in-law, Pauline and Bill Cregger of Wytheville, Virginia. One foster son, Billy Ellison of Marion, Virginia. Twenty-six grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, twelve great-great-grandchildren, one very special great-great-granddaughter, Alexia Cregger and one very special great-great-grandson, Bryan Cregger. Two brothers and sister-in-law, Wallace and Lettie Myers and Elmer Myers all of Rich Valley, Virginia. Two sisters, Edith Gillespie of Marion, Virginia, Bonnie Alexander Summersville of Saltville, Virginia. One brother-in-law Fred Shupe and wife, Mary of Maryland also survive.
Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion United Methodist Church, Nebo, Virginia, with Rev. Steve Hutton, and Brother Jerry Yates officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the church one hour before the service. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, November 29, 2007 from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the family at www.seaverbrown.com.
