Obituary of Ruby Fannin

MARION, VIRGINIA: RUBY GORDON SMITH FANNIN, age 91, died Sunday, October 7, 2007 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home in Marion, Virginia. She was born on August 11, 1916 in the Fairwood Community of Grayson County, Virginia to the late Gordon and Minnie Hill Smith. Mrs. Fannin is preceded in death by her husband, Russell Fannin; a daughter, Peggy Sue Cregger; two sisters; and five brothers. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Pauline and Max Malone, and Pat and Hurly Mabe all of Marion, Virginia; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Darwin and Lisa Fannin of Las Vegas, Nevada, Jim and Nancy Fannin of Greensboro, North Carolina, and David Fannin of Bedford, Virginia; ten grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services will be held Wednesday, October 10, 2007 in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
