Obituary of Roy Cullop
SEVEN MILE FORD, VIRGINIA: ROY FRANKLIN CULLOP, age 75, died Monday, October 8, 2007 at his home in Seven Mile Ford, Virginia after a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Roy was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and a member of the Seven Mile Ford Presbyterian Church. He lived in Smyth County most of his life where he was a well known and respected business man. He was part owner and operator of Goodman Jewelers in Saltville and Marion and Hudson Jewelry Company of Chilhowie, Virginia. He also served on the Board of Directors of First National Bank of Saltville. Roy also believed that it never rained on a golf course.
Mr. Cullop was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas B Cullop Sr. and Alverdia Hall Cullop; two brothers, Ed Cullop and Eugene Cullop all of Marion, Virginia; and one sister Virginia Gillenwater of Bakersfield, California.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty E. Blevins Cullop; one daughter, Vicki Wilson of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia; one grandson, Graham Tyler Wilson of Christiansburg, Virginia; one sister, Myrtle Hall, one brother Thomas B. Cullop Jr. and wife Louise of Marion, Virgina; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Cullop of Marion, Virginia and Terri Martin of Chilhowie, Virginia; one brother-in-law, Fred Blevins and wife Peggy of Yorktown, Virginia; one Special "Buddy" Bobby Sweat; two step-grandchildren, Austin Wilson and Wendy Wilson; and 2 step-great-grandchildren;; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the caretakers who were so helpful during this time. They are Sharon Anderson, Debbie Thomas, Brenda Hutson, Betty Thomas, and Lib Barnett. Also a special thank you to Lisa Cregger and all the staff of Hospice of Southwest Virgina.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, October 11, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Funeral Service with Rev. Bob Thornton and Rev. Jack Stevens officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, October 11, 2007 from 6:00 p.m. until time of service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
