Dear Paul, Betsy, Preston & Aaron, We were out of town until last night (9/6) and had not seen the newspaper; otherwise we would have been at the service. I only met Ray once when I went by to see him at his home several years ago. He was delightful to talk to, and I am so sorry for your loss. Betsy you may recall that your mother and my Dad were first cousins. She was so dear to everyone who knew her. James is all the family I have left in Independence, and he is very special. My best to your family. Sincerely, Libby Ann and Bob

Dr. Brown, I just learned of your father's passing from my sister, Linda Blevins of Marion. You cared for our mother (Mary King) during her final months while living with my sister at her home in Marion. I have heard such wonderful things about you and want you to know my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family during this time of loss. Our loved ones leave us all to quickly. May your fondest memories of your father find you comfort.

On behalf of The Festival of Trees committee in Mechanicsville, VA. I would like to express our sadness in the passing of Ray. For many years Ray participated tirelessly in our event. His service, dedication and gift of woodworking helped us achieve our goal of raising scholarships for seniors in Hanover County. He will be greatly missed but his spirit will live in each of our hearts!
