Obituary of Mae Meade

RUTH MEADE, age 87, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 14, 2007 from Holston Valley Medical Center, after a brief illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Meade. She was formerly of Marion, Virginia and is a member of Adwolfe Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by one daughter, Wilma Fortner, of Kingsport, Tennessee; and one son, Bill Meade, Jr., of Hopewell, Virginia; one brother, Fred Meade of Chilhowie, Virginia; five grandchildren, Jeanne Elliott and husband, Tim; Robin Proffitt, all of Blountville, Tennessee; Jessica Powers and husband, Andy; York Meade, all of Hopewell, Virginia; Adrienne Gibson and husband, Chris of Keokee, Virginia. Nine great-grandchildren and one very special great-great-grandson. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 16, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Tim Blevins and Rev. Cody Sturgill officiating. Graveside services will be held Monday, September 17, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery in Marion, Virginia.
