Obituary of Mary Irvin

MARY DARE NOONKESTER IRVIN, age 73 died Monday August 20, 2007 in Smyth County Community Hospital, Marion, Virginia. She was born March 31, 1934 in Grayson County, Virginia, to the late Paul and Geneta Hash Noonkester. She was a member of Summit Baptist Church in Sugar Grove for many years. Mary was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who dearly loved life, her family, her church family, and friends. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, James "Bill" Irvin of Marion, Virginia; one daughter, Melinda West and husband Harold, of Eatonton, Georgia; two grandchildren, Chase West and wife, Danielle, and Chelsea West, all of Eatonton, Georgia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 21, 2007 at Seaver-Brown Chapel at 8:00 p.m. with the Rev. Don Tate officiating. Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
