Obituary of Dennis Lockhart

MARION, VIRGINIA: DENNIS LOREN LOCKHART, age 57, died Tuesday, July 17, 2007 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was a truly devoted, loyal and loving husband, father and great "Poppy". Dennis was a kind, gentle man and he is and will be greatly missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Shirley H. Lockhart of Marion, Virginia; two daughters, Kelly Anne Gotham and Emily Loren Lockhart both of Marion, Virginia; one son, William Spencer Gotham of Marion, Virginia; his father, Dennison C. Lockhart of Atkins, Virginia; one brother, Bill Lockhart of Greenville, South Carolina; one sister, Leann Temple and husband, Boyd of Salem, Virginia; two nieces and one nephew, Chelsea, Ben and Megan; two grandchildren, Braxton and Madison; many other family members and loved ones. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, July 19, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church, Marion, Virginia with Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. Graveside Services will be held Friday, July 20, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until the time of the service at First United Methodist Church, Marion, Virginia.
