Obituary of Herman Widener
MARION, VIRGINIA: HERMAN F. WIDENER, age 87, died Thursday, June 07, 2007 in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. He was born, August 10, 1919 to the late Lacy and Frona Warden Widener. He was retired from Brunswick Corporation and was a World War II veteran having served in the United States Army and received a purple heart. Mr. Widener was of the Baptist faith and attended Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Doris Ann Widener; four sisters; and two brothers. He is survived by his wife, Jean Henegar Widener of Marion, Virginia; One Son & Daughter-in-law, Bobby and Kristi Widener of Chilhowie, Virginia; One Sister, Alberta Widener of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia; Two Brothers, Charles Widener of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia and Gordon Widener of Marion, Virginia; Two grandchildren, Trevor and Katie Widener; Several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, June 9, 2007 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage and Rev. Gary Trout officiating. Graveside Services will be held Sunday, June 10, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia where Military Rites will be conducted by Francis Marion VFW Post # 4667. The Family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
