Al and Frances were always wonderful neighbors-----our children grew up together and Al coached them in basketball when they were little ones. He will be missed by all. Our sympathy to all of you.

Mr. Ferguson was part of the team of wonderful neighbors that raised me. This man always took time for us kids. We all felt important because of that. He was always there with a smile, even when I broke a window. I am proud to have known him, and he will be missed.

Fran, I am so saddened to read this morning of Al's death. You and Al always held a special place with all the Slater family. It was an honor to be Al's pastor, friend, and neighbor. He embodied the beauty of Christ's spirit and was always a person I admired and held in the highest regard. His life mattered, to me, and many others and he will be missed. I feel so honored to have had the opportuiny to know Mr. Al. I am an employee of the Commissioner of Revenue's office, and Mr. Al worked here when I arrived in 1990. I really loved him, he was great man who always had a smile. He will missed by so many.
