Obituary of Janet Rhodes
MARION, VIRGINIA: JANET MARILYN RHODES, age 56 died Saturday, March 17, 2007 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born July 31, 1950 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida to the late Woodrow and Mary McCarty Losey, she was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and recently completed her G.E.D. and her Associate's Degree in Computer Information Systems Technology. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Howard F. Rhodes and one sister, Linda James. Mrs. Rhodes is survived by one daughter, Sandra Becker of Old Town, Maine; three sons, William Eric Rhodes of Marion, Virginia, Chris Becker and Chad Becker both of Old Town, Maine; three step-sons, Kyle Rhodes of Marion, Virginia, Lyle Rhodes of Glen Allen, Virginia and Dwight Rhodes of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; one sister, Sherri Hollars of Boone, North Carolina; one brother, Gary Losey of Roanoke, Virginia; eleven grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Gene and Loretta Suthard, Will and Linda Spain, Sheretta and Louis Conklin, Diane Warren, Richard Money and the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with President Scott Freeman officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Cancer Outreach Foundation, 206 Abingdon Place, Abingdon, Virginia 24211.
