Obituary of Georgia Meek

MARION, VIRGINIA: GEORGIA FAYE MEEK, age 81, widow of Robert Lynn Meek, died Thursday, February 22, 2007 in Valley Health Care Center. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son. Mrs. Meek is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and James Hampton of Christiansburg, Virginia; Two sons and two daughters-in-law, John C. and Barbara Meek; and S. Roger and Tresa Meek all of Marion, Virginia; One step-son, David L. Meek of Marion, Virginia; One sister and brother-in-law, Anne and Marvin Blevins of Abingdon, Virginia; and Three brothers and three sisters-in-law, Ernest Funk, Wayne and Florence Funk all of Marion, Virginia, Roy and Mary Funk of Ft. Myers, Florida, and Nellie Funk of Marion, Virginia; thirteen grandchildren, Robert Meek, II, Elizabeth Meek, Jonathon Meek, Steven R. Meek, Stephanie Meek Brooks, Tracy Meek, Monica Hampton, Scott Hampton, Daveau Meek Haugen, Angela Meek Sciarra, Michael Meek, Douglas Hawkins, Ronald Hawkins; seventeen great-grandchildren; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Charles Walker officiating. Mrs. Meek's final resting place will be beside her beloved husband, Robert in Old Ebenezer Lutheran Church Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
