Obituary of James Cox
MARION, VIRGINIA: JAMES LEE "JIM" COX, age 79, died Wednesday, January 17, 2007 in St. Luke's Hospital, Bluefield, WV. He was born on April 6, 1927 in Smyth County, Virginia to the late Gilbert and Florence Hubble Cox. Besides his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Warren and Paul Cox; and one sister, Edith Cox. Mr. Cox attended the Church of God in Atkins, Virginia for many years until he moved to Ceres, Virginia to make home with Fred and Revena Cox, and then he began attending the Zion United Methodist Church in Ceres, Virginia. He retired from General Shale Products after many years of service. He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Ed and Ozela Cox of Oakton, Virginia, and Fred and Revena Cox of Ceres, Virginia; four sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ruth Hamm of Ceres, Virginia, Geneva and Bill Leedy of Marion, Virginia, Margie Saunders of Virginia Beach, and Doris and Gary Mullins of Bluefield, West Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 20, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Will Shelton officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Zion United Methodist Church Cemetery, Ceres, Virginia.
