Obituary of Roy Parks
SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: ROY PARKS, age 76, died Saturday, January 27, 2007 at his home in Sugar Grove, Virginia. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the United States Army and was a member of Francis Marion V.F.W. Post#4667. He is survived by two half sisters, Mildred Paisley of Galax, Virginia; and Thelma Keys of Marion, Virginia, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Roby and Charlotte Parks of Atkins, Virginia, and Cleve and Georgia Parks of New Freedom, Pennsylvania. Several nieces, nephews, and very special friends, Keith and Lisa Mitchell and their children, Megan and Devin also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Donald Medley officiating. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Virginia where full military rites will be conducted by Francis Marion V.F.W. Post #4667. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
