Obituary of Ruby Dempsey

MARION, VIRGINIA: RUBY COMBS DEMPSEY, age 78, widow of Charles "Ringeye" Dempsey, died Friday, December 1, 2006 at her home in Marion, Virginia. She is survived by three daughters and one son-in-law, Charlotte Eller, Wanda Hayden both of Marion, Virginia, and Regina and Clement Osborne of Chilhowie, Virginia. Three sons and one daughter-in-law, Daniel and Pat Dempsey of Sugar Grove, Virginia; Wiley Dempsey and companion, Joan Garland of Wytheville, Virginia; and Dale Dempsey of Marion, Virginia. Four sisters, Betty McGrady of Mouth of Wilson, Virginia; Carol Osborne of Galax Virginia; Pansy Summersfield of Maiden, North Carolina; and Pauline Hawkins of Sugar Grove, Virginia. Sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, December 3, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Roger Frost, Rev. David Bise, and Rev. Otis Barker officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in Comer's Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Grayson County, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
