Obituary of Roger Bennett

MARION, VIRGINIA: ROGER BENNETT, age 54, died Tuesday, December 5, 2006 in Smyth County Community Hospital. He was retired from the Marion Police Department after 20 years of service and he was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Cleo B. Overbay. He is survived by his wife, Brenda Bennett of Marion, Virginia; One daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Dickie Norris of Bristol, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Amanda Bennett of Troutdale, Virginia; One sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Harry Haga of Marion, Virginia; Two grandchildren, Lauren Norris and Cole Bennett. His mother-in-law, Isabelle Clark of Marion, Virginia; One sister-in-law, Terrie Stokes and Jeff Haga of Meadowview, Virginia; One niece, Jessika Haga; and One half-brother, Gary Smith of Baltimore, Maryland also survive. Funeral Services will be held Friday, December 8, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Bob Surber and Rev. Jeff Lambert officiating. Private burial will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
