Obituary of Carolyn Smith

ATKINS, VIRGINIA: CAROLYN ARMSTRONG SMITH, age 64, died Monday, November 06, 2006 in Smyth County Community Hospital following a brief illness. Born on June 1, 1942 to the late James L. Armstrong and Jean Parlier Armstrong Russell of Atkins, Virginia, she had lived most of her adult life in Florida until she retired from Motorola and moved back to Virginia to care for her mother. Carolyn will be sadly missed by all those who loved her. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her husband, Coy Lee Smith. Besides her mother Carolyn is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Candous S. and Neil Crispo of Coral Springs, Florida; Three sons and one daughter-in-law, Hank and Stephanie Smith of Warner Robins, Georgia, Jeff Smith of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Keith Smith of Coral Springs, Florida; One brother, Kenny Armstrong of Atkins, Virginia. Four sisters and brothers-in-law, Wanda and Graham Ellis and Rita Smith all of Marion, Virginia, Julia and Lewis Shortt of Chilhowie, Virginia, and Cindy Armstrong of Sevierville, Tennessee; Three very special grandchildren, Trevor Smith of Warner Robins, Georgia, Jessica Crispo and Tyler Smith both of Coral Springs, Florida; Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Services will be held Friday, November 10, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Pastor Chuck Herrell officiating. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
