Obituary of Gaye Doss

MARION, VIRGINIA: GAYE PENNINGTON BURCHETT DOSS, age 71, died Wednesday, October 04, 2006 in Smyth County Community Hospital. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Doug Burchett and Junior Doss, her parents, Harold and Laura Pennington, two brothers, Tim Pennington and Don Pennington and a sister, Ida Testerman. She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Dixie and Dan Prater of Marion, Virginia and Cindy and Tom Salyer of Kingsport, Tennessee; Four grandchildren, Jennifer Prater Harris and husband, Andrew, Leah Prater, David Salyer and Andrew Salyer. Four brothers, Dave Pennington of Victoria, Virginia, Ralph Pennington of Boone, North Carolina, Allen Pennington and Kelly Pennington both of Marion, Virginia; and One uncle, Fred Pennington of Bastian, Virginia; several nieces and nephews and extended family also survive. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 5, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. William T. Wing, III officiating. Graveside Services will be held Friday, October 6, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
