Obituary of Ann Poe
MARION, VIRGINIA: ANN SOLOMON POE, age 93, widow of Woodrow W. Poe, died Saturday, September 30, 2006 at Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. She was born on December 14, 1912 in Greene County, Tennessee to the late Pryor J. and Margaret Kate Day Solomon. Mrs. Poe attended the Marion Baptist Church and retired from Appalachian Power Company after many years of service. Besides her husband and parents she was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister, Pete, John D., Bruce Q. "Dook", and Willie Maude Solomon. She is survived by three sisters-in-law, Polly Solomon of Greene County, Tennessee, Mary Wright of Bluefield, West Virginia, and Rosie Gilmore of Houston, Texas; and 42 nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews as well as special neighbors, friends, and care givers also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 4, 2006 at 5:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel, Marion, Virginia with Dr. Mark Ross officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. The family will also receive friends Monday, October 9, 2006 from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Greeneville, Tennessee with funeral services at 6:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Rose Hill Funeral Home. Burial will be Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. in Andrew Johnson National Cemetery, Greeneville, Tennessee. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marion Baptist Church, 1258 North Main Street, Marion, Virginia 24354 or Fairview Baptist Church Building Fund, 6410 McDonald Rd., Mohawk, Tennessee 37810.
