MARION, VIRGINIA: JOHN ROBERT KING, age 77, died Wednesday, August 30, 2006 at his home in Marion, Virginia. Born May 12, 1929 in Smyth County, Virginia, to the late Pierce and Nannie Reeves King, he was a member of the Marion Baptist Church, a veteran of the United States Army, and had served 32 years with the United States Postal Service. Mr. King was preceded in death by two brothers, Francis R. King and Charles D. King and two grandchildren, Aimee Michelle Fisher and Mikal Wayne Deel. He is survived by his wife, Lois W. "Babs" King of Marion, Virginia; daughter, Tonda Gail King and fiancé, Michael J. Barrett of Ashburn, Virginia, son and daughter-in-law, John Eric Wade and Amy King of Marion, Virginia, and daughter, Tanja Louise Reeves King of Woodstock, Virginia. Three sisters and six brothers, Ann L. Branham of Alexandria, Virginia, Dorothy E. Morrow of Portland, Oregon, Nancy Carolyn Wymer of Richlands, Virginia, James T. King of Chilhowie, Virginia, Forrest "Jack" King of Marion, Virginia, Donald C. King of Olivehurst, California, Richard M. King of Draper, Virginia, Alfred R. King of Marion, Virginia and William L. King of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia. Ten grandchildren, Tiffany Leigh King; Tiara Nicole King and fiancé, Jeremy Greene; M. Robert Fisher and fiancée, Jenny Bane; Zachary Austin Wade King; Eric Tyler Wilson King; Ty Stephen Campbell; Tanner Lucas Campbell; Courtney Reeves Scaggs; John Douglas Scaggs and Jared Oakley Scaggs. Four great-grandchildren, Rachael Leigh Tomlin; Treyson J.R. King; Michael Joseph Bane and Lucas Robert Fisher. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 1, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Dr. Mark Ross and Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Rosewood Memorial Gardens, Rural Retreat, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
