Obituary of Hazel Jones
MARION, VIRGINIA: HAZEL GAYE JONES, age 73, went to be with the Lord, Monday, July 17, 2006. She was the daughter of the late James Roark and Ruth Roark Bennington and was of the Baptist faith. She was a retired employee of the Brunswick Corporation and was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. In addition to her parents Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, John R. Jones, Jr., two sisters, Jewel Bernice Mize and Betty Krings. She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Tammy and Allen Ratcliffe of Piney, Virginia, Pam and Tom Thomas of Speedwell, Virginia, and Susie Jones of Seven Mile Ford, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Johnny and Melissa Jones of Atkins, Virginia; Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Two sisters and brothers-in-law, Maxine and Fred Copenhaver of Abingdon, Virginia and Helen and Otis Parks of Marion, Virginia; One brother, Worth Roark of Nottingham, Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The family would like to give a special thank you to Ruth Williams and all the caring staff at Valley Health Care Center and Hospice of Southwest Virginia. Graveside Services will be held Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Blue Springs Cemetery, Camp, Virginia, with Rev. Jerry Creasy and Rev. Bob Neace officiating. There will not be a visitation at the funeral home.
