Obituary of Charlotte Greer

CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: CHARLOTTE SHELTON GREER, age 77, died Saturday, July 29, 2006 in Valley Health Care Center in Chilhowie, Virginia. She was born on April 5, 1929 to the late John and Sarah Reed Shelton. Charlotte was a member of The Fellowship Baptist Church in Siler City, North Carolina, The Eastern Star, and was also a retired florist. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Jack Bryan Greer; one brother, Willis Shelton; and a grandson, Barry Greer. She is survived by three sons and a daughter-in-law, Steven Bryan Greer and wife, Sharon of Southport, North Carolina, Dennis Wayne Greer and Darren Mitchel Greer both of Siler City, North Carolina; four sisters, Blana Johnson of Marion, Virginia, Wanda Stoker of Pulaski, Virginia, Jeanne Freeman of Asheville, North Carolina, and Violet Carter of Cedar City, Utah; three brothers, Stanley Shelton of Sacramento, California, John Shelton of Naples, Florida, and Donald Shelton of Cloverdale, Virginia; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 2006 at Seaver-Brown Chapel in Marion, Virginia at 8:00 p.m. with Rev. Mark Ross officiating. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, August 1, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery Mausoleum. The Family will receive friends on Monday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
