Obituary of Goldie Powell

CHILHOWIE, VIRGINIA: GOLDIE EVANS POWELL, age 103, widow of Walter S. Powell, died Monday, June 5, 2006 in Valley Health Care Center, Chilhowie, Virginia. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. She did private duty nursing and child care. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Walter S. Powell, Jr. She is survived by one sister, Sue Evans of Jonesboro, Tennessee; one daughter-in-law, Bernice Powell of Christiansburg, Virginia. Three grandchildren, Becky Lee; Alita Ashe; and Zane Powell; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 14, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Wednesday afternoon from 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
