Obituary of Lura Rowland

MARION, VIRGINIA: LURA ADAMS ROWLAND, age 89, widow of Edgar C. Rowland, died Friday, June 30, 2006 in Francis Marion Manor Nursing Home. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Rowland and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by one daughter, Virginia Gibbs and Everet of Sugoinsville, Tennessee; Two sons, Elmer Carel Rowland and wife, Patty of Marion, Virginia and Edgar Darrell Rowland and wife, Beverly of Bristol, Virginia. Three grandchildren, Brenda Rowland Bell and husband, Sam of Dublin, Virginia, Donna Rowland McCarty and husband, Jack of Marion, Virginia and Matthew Rowland of Christiansburg, Virginia; Four great-grandchildren, Samuel Kent Bell, Evan Walters Bell, Katherine Grace McCarty, and Grayson Pate McCarty and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Sunday, July 2, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Ottis Barker officiating. Graveside Services will be held Monday at 11:00 in Riverside Cemetery, Chilhowie, Virginia. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
