Obituary of Violet Tolbert
MARION, VIRGINIA: VIOLET H. TOLBERT, age 75, died Monday, May 08, 2006 in Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. She was a member of the Church of God in the Brown Subdivision in Marion, and retired in 1978 with 25 years service at the Southwestern State Hospital. She was preceded in death by her mother, Isabelle Widner, step-father, Curtis Widner, father, James Gates, and a brother, Paul Widner. Mrs. Tolbert is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Vanessa Tolbert of Marion, Virginia; One daughter and son-in-law, Tammy and Amr Elnagger of Marion, Virginia; Five sisters and brothers-in-law, Lois Gardner of Marion, Virginia, Mildred and Walter Byars of Grenada, Mississippi, Nancy and Robert Hill of Marion, Virginia, Rhonda and Fred Cress of Chilhowie, Virginia, and Laura and Bill Sheets of Marion, Virginia. Two brothers and sisters-in-law, Howard and Madge Gates of Lyndhurst, Virginia and James and Martha Gates of White Pine, Tennessee; Four grandsons, David Tolbert, James Tolbert and wife, Melinda, Richard Morrison, and Dustin Morrison; and a special great-grandson, Logan Tolbert. Several nieces and nephews, and three special friends, Carrie Sexton, Kasey Whitehead, and Polly Johnson also survive. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, May 9, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Paul Horton officiating. Graveside Services will be held Wednesday, May 10, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Anderson Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
