Obituary of Maxine Kidd

MARION, VIRGINIA: MAXINE VERNON KIDD, age 66, died Wednesday, May 24, 2006 in Smyth County Community Hospital. Born January 27, 1940 in Marion, Virginia, to the late Tom and Essie Vernon, she retired from Southwestern State Hospital after over 30 years of service. Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Don Kidd, and two sisters, Carolyn Williams and Bobbie V. Walton. Mrs. Kidd is survived by one son, Glenn Robert Kidd and fiancée, Kim Overbay of Marion, Virginia; Three sisters, Dollie Woodward of Marion, Virginia, Joyce Bishop and Martha Voigt both of Moncks Corner, South Carolina; Two brothers, William T. Vernon, Jr. of Bluefield, West Virginia and Marvin Lynn Vernon of Pleasantview, Tennessee. Three grandchildren, Brittany, Kimberly, and Stacy Kidd; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, May 27, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
