Obituary of Mary Buchanan

CERES, VIRGINIA: MARY ANN HAYS BUCHANAN, age 70, died Thursday, March 16, 2006 in Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon, Virginia. Born to the late Robert and Mary Kegley Hays on October 13, 1935, she was a patron of the Nebo Community Center and was involved in getting the property deeded to the community. She was a member of the Chatham Hill Church of God, an artist, loved gardening and flowers, and was a loving wife and mother. Mrs. Buchanan is survived by her husband, Leslie T. Buchanan of Ceres, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Leslie Jr. and Cheryll Buchanan of St. Petersburg, Florida; Two brothers, Fox Hays and wife, Barbara of Saltville, Virginia, and Calvin Hays and wife, Linda of Ceres, Virginia; One sister-in-law, Julia Hays of Ceres, Virginia. One grandchild, Sara Jane Buchanan; several nieces and nephews; and a special care giver and friend, JoAnn Atkins also survive. Graveside Services will be held Saturday, March 18, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at Hays Family Cemetery, Ceres, Virginia, with Rev. Robert Million officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
