Obituary of Sarah Gowins

MARION, VIRGINIA: SARAH SHUPE GOWINS, age 87, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 in Bristol Regional Medical Center. She was preceded in death by her husband of 26 years, Boyd "Bo" Gowins and a son-in-law, Leon A. Wright. She was of the Baptist Faith. Mrs. Gowins was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved gardening, cooking and canning. She had a special love for taking excellent care of her family and enjoyed helping to raise her grandchildren. Mrs. Gowins is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Brenda G. Wright of Dry Fork, Virginia and Lynn and Greg Barton of Marion, Virginia; One sister, Laura Sexton of Rising Sun, Maryland; Two grandchildren, Cary Reeves and Erika Barton both of Marion, Virginia; A special friend, Bill Casey of Meadowview, Virginia; Several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 1, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Neville Mozingo officiating. Graveside Services will be held Sunday, April 2, 2006 at 1:30 p.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O.
