Obituary of Jesse Davis

MARION, VIRGINIA: JESSE H. DAVIS, age 80, passed away Friday, February 24, 2006, in Phoenix, Arizona. He was born August 18, 1925, in Crumpler, WV to the late Leonard H. Davis and Jennie Blevins Davis. Jesse was a member of the Mount Carmel Primitive Baptist Church in Bel Air, Maryland. He was a man whose life was devoted to his family and church. His great sense of humor, devilish grin, and catchy phrases will be missed. All who knew him loved him. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by, a brother Paul, his beloved wife Frances Russell Davis, step children, Harold Garza and Josephine McNeal, and his daughter-in-law Pam Davis. Jesse is survived by four children, Lenny Davis of Pasadena, MD, Jesse (Sharon) Davis of Marietta, GA, Jennie Murray of Glendale, AZ, and Bob (Robin) Davis of Phoenix, AZ, three step-children, Gary (Julie) Sexton of Roanoke, VA, Connie (Ron) Dalton of Marion, VA, and Phillip (Sandy) Garza of Marion, VA, a sister Laura Warnes of Bel Air, MD, three brothers Melvin (Sybil) Davis of Roanoke, VA, John (Rebecca) Davis of Stewartstown, PA, and Roy (Sylvia) Davis of Essex, MD, and sister-in-law, Ruby Davis of Essex, MD. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, March 1, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Steven Bloyd officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel. Graveside Services will be Thursday, March 2, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at Rose Lawn Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimers Association, P.O.
