Obituary of Michael Cassell

ROANOKE, VIRGINIA: MICHAEL DAVIS CASSELL, age 88, died Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in Virginia Veteran's Care Center, Roanoke, Virginia. Born January 24, 1917 to the late Michael Dallas and Clara Crismond Cassell, he was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army in Italy and retired from General Electric Company. Mr. Cassell is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elizabeth McGhee Cassell of Roanoke, Virginia; One son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Rhonda Cassell, Jr. of Roanoke, Virginia; Three grandchildren, Adam Cassell of Roanoke, Virginia; Nicole Spero of Washington, DC; and Daniel Spero of Chicago, Illinois. One brother, Jake Cassell of Marion, Virginia; A sister-in-law, Ruby Cassell of Marion, Virginia; and two nieces and two nephews also survives. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 20, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Donna Hester officiating. A private burial will be held in Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Marion, Virginia. The family will receive friends Friday afternoon from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
