Obituary of Helen Long
SUGAR GROVE, VIRGINIA: HELEN STALLARD LONG, age 83, died Wednesday, January 25, 2006 at the home of her daughter in Speedwell, Virginia. Mrs. Long was a member of the Freedom Tabernacle Baptist Church and was retired from Brunswick Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bascom G. Long. She is survived by two daughters, Brenda Long Lewis of Darlington, Maryland and Helena Jewell Long of Speedwell, Virginia; Two sisters, Joyce Atkins of Abingdon, Virginia and Hazel Rash of West Jefferson, North Carolina; One brother, David Stallard of Clifton, Texas. Five grandchildren, Alan Long, Wendel Brian Smith, Domnick Giordano, Amy Lawton, and Laura Carlson; Two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Jewell Lawton and Riley Isabella Lawton; many beloved nieces and nephews; One very special sister-in-law and four special brothers-in-law also survive. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 26, 2006 at 8:00 p.m. at Seaver-Brown Chapel with Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Graveside services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Slemp Cemetery, Sugar Grove, Virginia. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6:00 until the time of the service at Seaver-Brown Chapel.
